The Apostle John teaches us that if we would be saved, we must worship one God in three distinct persons saying in I John 5:7, “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” Believing in the Triune God is imperative for a true confession of the God of the Bible.
Thomas Watson in illustrating there is one Omnipotent God, Who rules over all the creation gives the following illustration saying, “If a ship should have two pilots of equal power, one would be ever crossing the other: when one would sail, the other would cast anchor: here were a confusion, and the ship must needs perish. The order and harmony in the world, the constant and uniform government of all things, is a clear argument that there is but one Omnipotent God that rules all. Malachi 2:10 says, “Have we not all one Father? Hath not one God created us?”
The Apostle Paul declares the three distinct persons of the Godhead in the benediction of II Corinthians 13:14 saying, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.”
